A unique Concert by The Halle is to be staged in Manchester this September.

For the first time in its history the Hallé will perform a unique ‘pay what you like’ concert, reaching out to people who are curious about classical music, or may never have heard a symphony orchestra before.

‘Priceless Classics’ will take place at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hall on Sunday 6 September at 6pm.

The Hallé will perform ten short pieces spanning 300 years of music, each introduced on the Hallé Big Screen. Free programmes will be available in the hall offering background to the music.

Audience members will be able to come and go, bring their drinks into the concert hall, enjoy the music and then, after the concert, pay what they think the event was worth.

John Summers, the Hallé’s Chief Executive said, “Our concert will allow new audiences to experience the Hallé and enjoy some incredible music, but on their own terms. If people have not heard the Hallé’s music before this is the perfect event for them.”

Entry into the concert is by ticket, available from the box office or online, at no cost. After the concert people will be able to pay what they think the event was worth, for each ticket they have. The box office will be open after the event, or people can phone or go online later.

Tickets are available online at HERE, in person from The Bridgewater Hall box office at or by calling 0161 907 9000
